Deploy Application war file on Weblogic Managed Server using python script

Here i will list out the steps to deploy application using python script.
I am using weblogic version 10.3.6 on OEL5.5 OS
Please download the shoppingcart.war here.
Step1:
Create python script deploy.py
2
Step2:
Run the setDomainEnv.sh
1
Step3: Deploy the Application war as below
3
Once we execute we will see the below output

Install Weblogic in Silent mode using silent.xml and creating default domain server in Console mode using config.sh

Hi all,
I am going to list out the steps to install weblogic in silent mode and managed server in console mode.
First install jrocket. I installed Jrocket using console mode. I used PUTTY for the installation of Jrocket and Weblogic

Utility to View Weblogic Logs

Hello Everyone.
In this post I will introduce you too a utility to view Weblogic Log Files. As we know in R12.2, MiddleTier is managed by  Weblogic, to view big log files it is not that easy to view in putty.
The Weblogic Log Viewer tool can be useful for traversing log files and aid in quickly finding error messages within large log files.
You can download this tool from here

This is a small and simple but very helpful tool I developed to visualize WLS logs.

The motivation to write it came with the need to filter WLS logs by columns: it really helps to analyze logs by filtering out what is not relevant and concentrating in what is related to your problem.

It is a WIP, and currently it can only parse WLS logs (not stdouts) that use line start tag as "####".

You can filter by any of the predefined 12 columns: Time Stamp, Severity, Subsystem, Machine, Server, Thread ID, User ID, Transaction ID, Diagnostic Context, Raw Time, Message ID and Message Text.

You can also re-order the columns and resize them. There's a button to conveniently copy the contents of the selected line (only the message) to the clipboard.

Give it a try and let me know what you think. Download the jar at the end of this post and start it with java -jar WLSLogViewerApp.jar.

Download WLS Log Viewer
Download the Tool and set the application environment.
How to Use this tool.

Steps to DeInstall Oracle Weblogic Server 12.1.2.0.0...

Below are the steps to deinstall Oracle Weblogic Server 12.1.2.0.0 :

  1. Stop all Oracle WebLogic processes such as the Admin Server, Managed Server, and Node Manager.
  2. Stop the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Server Manager agent associated with the Oracle WebLogic Server that you wish to uninstall.
Note :
- You can deinstall Weblogic Server in two ways :
* Silent Mode
* GUI Mode
- The deinstaller does not remove the JDK or any user-created data such as WebLogic domains or custom application data. Only the components that were installed by the installation program are removed by the deinstaller.
Deinstalling WLS 12.1.2 in Silent mode :
Deinstall WLS 12.1.2 in GUI mode :
Step 1 :
Go to " ORACLE_HOME\oui\bin " directory and run deinstall script.
Step 2 :
Step 3 :
Note :
- You can save the response file for deinstaller here.
- This response file can be used to deinstall WLS in silent mode.
Step 4 :
Step 5 :
">Step 6 :
Note :
 - After running the deinstall script, not all files / folders are removed.
- To remove all the files and folder you need to manually clean up few files as shown below :

WebLogic Server Domain Overview

Weblogic Domain Structure

A weblogic domain is a logical group of weblogic server resources that is managed as a unit. A domain always includes a minimum of a single server instance known as Administration Server or in other words Admin Server. The Administration Server is a central point of contact for all domain resources. An Administration Server handles all administrative tasks within a weblogic server domain. You can access the domain via a web-based console that gets deployed to the Administration Server upon it`s restart. There can be only one Administration Server in a Domain. The domain can also include additional servers known as Managed servers, clunster or multiple clusters.
A managed server can be an independent server or can be part of a cluster within the weblogic server domain. A cluster is a group of weblogic servers that works as a single unit to provide high-availability. It is highly recommended to deploy all applications on managed servers in production mode. There can be multiple managed servers within a domain. Managed servers can either be clustered or non-clustered. There can be multiple servers within a cluster. When clustered, managed servers can perform their tasks as a single unit that provides high-availability and load-balancing.
Following resources are available in the domain that are required by managed servers and deployed applications
Application components: JSP, Servlets, EJB ...etc.
JDBC & JMS
Security Realm
Persistent Stores
Store and Forward Services
Monitoring Services
Startup Classes
Adapters
There are two modes in which a domain can run.
1. Development Mode: A domain running in development mode is less secure then a domain running in production mode. In development mode, an Administration Server can act as a Managed Server as well, since you can deploy applications to this single standalone Administration Server (not recommended in production mode). A domain running in development mode does not require a password when starting the Administration Server. The maximum number of connections allocated to the JDBC connection pool is 15. Demo certificates can be used in development mode. In development mode, log rotation happens during the server sartup. The auto-deployment feature is enabled in development mode.
2. Production Mode: A domain running in production mode is highly secure. The maximum number of connections allocated to the JDBC connection pool is 25. Demo certificates can be used in a production mode but a warning message is displayed in the log files. In production mode, the log rotation happens when the log size reaches to 5000k. The auto-deployment feature is disabled in production mode.
Detailed information on all components and resources of Weblogic Domain Architecture will be covered in upcoming articles.

WebLogic Scripting Tool

Based on Jython Programming Language, WLST (weblogic scripting tool) is a command line scripting environment to do the weblogic administration task. You can create, manage and monitor weblogic server domains using the WLST.
You can use WLST in two ways:
1. WLST Online
2. WLST Offline
